Naa Ashorkor has established herself as a brilliant on-screen actress. But she showed a different side to her with her performances in stage plays An Inspector Calls and Dilemma Of A Ghost. She also featured in a movie titled Nine.

King Promise

King Promise had one of the biggest songs in 2023, Terminator. On the back of its success, he performed at many venues including VGMA. He also performed with Wizkid at the Tottenham Stadium in London and Davido in Atlanta, US.


Sarkodie featured on the remix of Bob Marley's Stir It Up, released Confam, Till We Die featuring Ruger. His Jamz World Tour was a big success with sold out venues across Europe and America.

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale left it a bit late in the year. His biggest singles, Incoming and Designer were released at the latter part but they made big impacts. He mounted some of the biggests stages in Ghana and abroad including the GMA UK which was his first performance in London in seven years.

Black Sherif

Black Sherif continued from where he left off in 2022. His double single, Yaya and Simmer, became big hits. He won VGMA Artiste Of The Year and also got featured on Blood, Sweat & Tears, the soundtrack of Hollywood movie Creed III. To cap it all, Blacko won the BET Best International Flow Award.


Stonebwoy released 5th Dimension, the highly-acclaimed album which contains hit tracks Therapy and Manodzi featuring Angelique Kidjo. He did tours and performed on some of the biggest stages in Europe and America with some appearances Jamaica.

It has been a good year for singer Piesie Esther whose Mo single has impressed music lovers.
On the back of her 2022 smash hit, W'ayɛ Me Yie, Piesie has performed at almost every major event in Ghana and beyond.

For a long time, Dancegodloyd has been one of the mostntable dancers in Ghana in the past few years. In 2023, he was still a force. His dance challenge for King Promise's Terminator, propelled the song to a viral status.

Endurance Grand

Edurance Grand, another member of the DWP dance academy, established heself as one of the most prominent dancers in 2023. Her dance content on social media always went viral.


Afronita, a member of the DWP dance academy, has made a name as one of most sought-after dancers. She graced many stages in the year. On top of that, she took little dancer, Abigail, who won the 2023 Talented Kidz to mentor her.

Happy Town (Makola Women)

These Makola women may not be 'professional' dancers but they gave Ghanaians more than enough excitement with their moves. Formed as part of a project by Official Starter, their videos travelled far and wide and even reached the doors of Nigerian star Burna Boy who shared their video and reached out to them.
