Stonebwoy

It has been an excellent year for Stonebwoy. Coming on the back of the Anloga Junction in 2020, the Dancehall superstar went on a successful tour across the UK, filling the O2 Academy in London.

He also released songs including 1GAD and Ariba (which features Focalistic), among others. Three international albums from Jamaica he was featured on have also been nominated for the Grammys.

Sarkodie
Sarkodie’s 2021 has been great. He released his 7th album, No Pressure, with tracks including No Fugazy, Rollies and Cigars, and Coachella.

The rapper has held successful album listening parties within Ghana, UK, Nigeria, and Kenya.
Kuami Eugene
Just as the past few years have been for Kuami Eugene, he has had an awesome time. The singer released two bangers, Dollar On You and Bunker, as well as an EP album titled Afro Highlife.

Eugene brought his energy and creativity to many of the biggest hit tracks in the year, including Okyeame Kwame’s Yeeko, Kwame Yogot’s Biibi Besi, KiDi’s Spiritual, and Kweku Darlington’s Sika Aba Fie Remix, among others.

He also organised a homecoming concert at Akim Oda.
KiDi
If there was any year KiDi exerted himself as a big artiste, it must be 2021. 

With his Golden Boy album, KiDi has had an amazing year. The lead song off the album, Touch It, has charted on Billboard’s World Digital Songs Sales.

His Live With KiDi in Accra concert was also a big success with loads of fans filling the venue.
Shatta Wale
In 2021, Shatta Wale released a number of amazing songs, including 1Don
His highest point has been the nomination of his track, Already, with Beyoncé and Major Lazer at the 2021 MTV Awards.
Diana Hamilton
The fact that Diana Hamilton is one of the most-streamed female artistes in Ghana on Boomplay and Spotify for the year 2021 says it all.

She has released hits including Awurade Ye and has performed at a number of high-profile events, including the VGMA, where she performed with Joe Mettle.
The melodious singer also released an album titled Grace.
Influencer of the Year
The Influencer of the Year category is to recognise social media stars whose content on their platforms has sparked conversations on the internet.
Kwadwo Sheldon
Sheldon is a content creator with over 660k followers on Twitter. He also runs a vibrant YouTube account where he shares reviews of songs.

In 2021, some of his reviews became hot topics on social media and generated loads of reactions from the fans of the artists concerned.
Kalyjay
Kalyjay is an influential figure on Twitter with over 560k followers.

In 2021, he used his platform to lead the Fix The Country movement to gain momentum on social media.
Hajia Bintu
Hajia Bintu became a TikTok star in late 2019 and has since grown into one of the most sought-after influencers in the year 2021.

She has 1.2m followers on the app and over 840k followers on Instagram and every one of her videos and photos tend to go viral.
Wode Maya
With almost one million subscribers, Wode Maya is considered one of the biggest YouTubers in Africa.
He uses his platform and influence to highlight the many hidden tourist attractions in Ghana and across the continent.

Through his channel, Maya also hopes to change negative narratives about Africa by promoting all its 55 countries in a positive way.
Dulcie Boateng
 Dulcie Boateng is a great influencer on Snapchat with over 200k views per post.

She created Vendor Vault, an annual sales fair for online vendors. The 2021 edition, which was held at the Accra Polo Club in August, brought thousands of sellers and buyers together.
Comedian of The Year
The Comedian of The Year category is to recognise the topmost comedy actor. It includes comic stars who have cracked ribs with their performances on stage or gotten people laughing their heads off with skits.

Teacher Kwadwo
Teacher Kwadwo is a primary school teacher but it’s his comedy that has made him a household name.

His videos on YouTube and Instagram have been popular enough to get him a slot on mainstream TV.

In 2021, Teacher Kwadwo embarked on a campaign for educational reform.
Comedian Waris
Comedian Waris cemented his position as a top comedian this year.

In October, Waris filled the SNAP Cinema with his Seriously Unserious show, his first one-man show.
Jackline Mensah
Jackline Mensah is the first Ghanaian TikToker to get one million followers and she achieved this feat in 2021.

It was all thanks to her funny skits on the platform and other social media platforms.
Asantewaa
Asantewaa has some of the funniest skits on TikTok and it’s no wonder she recently clocked one million followers.
Her ability to turn every trending topic in 2021 into a funny skit has ensured that her followers always enjoy a good laugh when visiting her page.
Made In Ghana
Made In Ghana has made giant strides as a comic actor because of his hilarious videos on Instagram.

Even though he touches on almost every topic, it’s his ability to mimic Shatta Wale that has gotten him the most attention.
Dr Likee
Dr Likee, aka Aka Ebenezer or Ras Nene, has changed the comedy scene with his skits on YouTube.

As an actor, Likee’s fame was limited to the Kumawood industry, however he is now recognised all over Ghana because of his impressive acting in his skits, which flooded social media within 2021.
Rising Star of the Year
The Rising Star category is to reward up-and-coming entertainers who took social media by storm and became forces to be reckoned with in 2021.
Kyekyeku
A member of Dr Likee’s skit team, Kyeyeku has endeared himself to many social media users with his acting.

Often acting as a snitch in Dr Likee’s YouTube videos, Kyekyeku has earned himself a stardom status in 2021.
Black Sherif
Black Sherif shot up as a big musician in a few months because of his Second Sermon song. 

He happens to be one of the discoveries of the year with his followership growing steadily.
Felicia Osei
Felicia Osei has been making people laugh week in and week out with her comic skits in 2021.

Her ability to narrate everyday relationship issues and make fun out of them is exceptional.
Portia Wekia
A former GMB contestant, Portia Wekia has built a big profile as a content creator within this year.

Wekia jumps on every challenge and does it justice. It’s no wonder she has amassed over 600k followers.
Gyakie
Gyakie got her big break this year when her track, Forever, and its remix with Omah Lay became monstrous hits.
She is one of the most-streamed artists on Apple Music in Ghana, Nigeria, and Tanzania in 2021.

The Change-Makers category seeks to recognise players in the entertainment industry who have made a positive impact in society or their communities.
